Amalfishores.com | Interview with Bruno @ Ravelloweddingmusic.com :.

Today we'll have a quick chat with Bruno Esposito, founder of Ravelloweddingmusic.com. Bruno is an accomplished music coordinator who works in Ravello, Positano, Sorrento and Capri, and an acclaimed singer who has been performing in Italy and abroad for several years. Let's see what he has to say.

Amalfishores.com: Hi Bruno, let's start with what you do exactly.
Bruno: Hi guys, thank you for having me, I provide live music and music services for weddings on the Amalfi coast, Sorrento and Capri. I work both as a performer and coordinator. I provide classical musicians, Neapolitan musicians, Jazz and POP bands, DJs, traditional dancers, acoustic bands, Latin bands, fireworks and more.

Amalfishores.com: How did you start as a musician.
Bruno: Music runs in the family, my grandmother graduated in piano and she taught me the basics of music as a kid, my father is an amateur classical guitar player. I started performing professionally at the age of 17 and I have been performing in Italy and abroad ever-since.

Amalfishores.com: And how did you start as a music coordinator for events.
Bruno: My mother has been a coordinator and press agents for theatrical events (plays, ballet, some concerts) in Italy for decades, she coordinated the Italian section of the Barcelona Expo', to mention one thing. I believe she inspired me to work as a coordinator, I learned a few things from her.

Amalfishores.com: What would you say is the most important thing about the way you work.
Bruno: I'd say that is the relationship with the couple, direct contact allows me to understand who they are and what music they like, and to connect with them to understand what vibe they want for their wedding.

Amalfishores.com: We found a remarkable number of enthusiastic posts about you and the work you do, on websites like TA (Tripadvisor) and such.
Bruno: Yes, fortunately couples from all over the world are very pleased with my work and they recommend my services on-line, that is what keeps my business running: recommendations from clients who can speak from their own experience. That is all the advertising and support I need.

Amalfishores.com: And that is the best kind of feedback.
Bruno: Absolutely, someone in the business might recommend a supplier for their own interest and not because of the quality of their service. I do not want to be recommended by wedding planners, venue managers and such maybe in exchange of a commission. I want my work to speak for itself through my clients comments.

Amalfishores.com: Can you walk us through one typical day coordinating music for an event.
Bruno: Gladly, it starts with emails, phone or Skype conversations, selecting the right acts, selecting songs, putting the team together, then meeting the couple at least once before the big day, confirming the schedule and double checking everything, and then the event itself: a day full of joy and fun and music. And before that there are things like keeping the team sharp by selecting only professional and talented people with a nice attitude, finding new talents, filming and recording demos, putting together and updating a full catalog of acts. There's a lot to do.

Amalfishores.com: Do you like this job?
Bruno: I love it, I wouldn't do anything else. The feeling of accomplishment I get every time things come together as planned and I see a couple's happiness and how they love their wedding day and the music is hard to beat for me.

Amalfishores.com: Does everything always work as planned, did you ever have a customer who wasn't happy with your work.
Bruno: There is always a chance something might go wrong. It might rain, or a cable or a part might stop working although it was tested right before an event. But it's small things and usually they can be fixed quite quickly. I don't believe I ever had customers who were dissatisfied with my services, I received some constructive criticism once or twice which I welcomed, it helped me improve.

Amalfishores.com: Thank you for your time Bruno.
Bruno: Thank you guys.
